Beyond Mars – Crimson Fleet is possibly one of the greatest science fiction adventures of all time. Beyond Mars – Crimson Fleet takes place in the explosive future of the 22nd Century, where mankind fights a desperate struggle against the tyranny of its own government and the darker side of its own technology. Based on developing scientific trends and devices, current politics, real people, and actual historic conflicts, the story is a non-stop spellbinding tale of thrills, excitement, romance, and suspense. The story begins with a huge chaotic space battle between the forces of Earth and a revolting Martian Fleet. Seeking freedom and a new life on a far-flung planet for all of its people (and with one of its greatest fleet captains, Richard Wakinyan of the Crazy Horse in the forefront of the story), the Martians manage to fight their way past the Earth ships and into hyper-space. Unknown, however, are traitors within the Martian Fleet itself. Previously alerted by these mutineers, the Earth sends its most hated armada, the Crimson Fleet, in pursuit of the Martians. With one simple order—“annihilate them”—the Crimson Fleet goes on an unbelievable rampage of destruction throughout the galaxy to confront their prey. As the story takes a slight turn, dark forces within the Earth government not only use the rebellion as an excuse to seize control, but to crush all of its political opposition through murder. And in secret, it begins building a monstrous army of terror and evil that will eventually be unleashed on the galaxy. The main tale then resumes with several small skirmishes. During this time, however, the mutineers capture Commander Alexander Paladin of the Martian Fleet. In act of vengeance, Captain Richard Wakinyan leads a force of Martian Marines against the traitors. A pitch firefight ensues and all the traitors are killed, but at a price. Wakinyan winds up assuming command of the fleet. With no escape possible and faced with the total slaughter of the Martian race by the merciless and technologically advanced Crimson Fleet, Wakinyan gambles everything on a desperate strategy of surprise and unorthodox tactics. And in this final and climatic battle, Wakinyan’s obsolete and badly out-numbered ships are put to the ultimate test of skill, luck, and bravery.

I have been a loyal "trekkie" for years, gobbling up the different TV series and books as well as all its various spinoffs. I didn't think anything was better, including Star Wars! Just goes to show you how wrong a person can be. I accidently stumbled across this on the internet back in July. Although it looked like a Star Trek knock-off, it still seemed pretty interesting. So I got it. However, after reading the first three chapters, I was hooked! This is one hell of a story! It takes place about 150 years from now with the Martians in rebellion against Earth. From the very beginning to the very end, it is non stop action! But it goes beyond that! The author is extremely clever in his use of technology and actual space scenery and how he weaves them into the story. Characters are three dimensional people who I loved to meet. My particularly favorites are Captain Wakinyan, the audacious commander of the space destroyer "Crazy Horse", and Tara, the mutant telepath woman, who wind up falling for each other in the end. The book is definitely different, but if you love Star Trek, its a "gotta get"! Reviewer: Robert Wayne This book is a combination of H.G. Wells' 'War of the Worlds' and Tolken's 'Lord of the Rings.' Unbelievably good, fast pace and action-packed! It just blows away Star Wars! Get it! It's well worth the money! Reviewer: James Kelly Beyond Mars Crimson Fleet is probably the best science fiction book I have read in years. Again it is a well written story that flows like a movie. Yet, it's appeal as so basic that I think that anyone who picks it up will enjoy it. From beginning to end, its excitement and action will grip you and keep you on edge. The book begins with a revolution on Mars that develops into a series of running battles, both with hand-to-hand combat and in space. The main character, Captain Richard Wakinyan, is an audacious ship commander that is willing to take the most insanest chances to win. And it is some of the most creative situations that make this book really novel. The main villain, however, is a woman. Admiral Selena Darius is an ambitious and ruthless politically driven individual, who will kill anyone for the sake of power. And these two play well against each other. All in all, the book is worth reading over and over again. Reviewer: Pooka from GA I read a few other online reviews for this book and I became a little skeptical at first. Its not too many books you encounter with a constant four or five star rating. Usually its just people hyped up over something or some stupid fans of a TV show series book. But anyway, I decided to pickup a copy for myself and see what it really was about. I was totally surprised! This book has got to be one of the best science fiction stories on the market! Its story is timeless and seems to a retelling of the American Revolution, but at a faster pace and with the Martians as the good guys. Its very creative and extremely entertaining. One of the other reviewers referred to this as the "Lord of the Rings" of science fiction. I do heartily agree. This book one day is going to be a classic, and hopefully someone will make it a great movie! Do yourself a favorite and pick one up, you will not be disappointed. Think about any Scifi book, movie, TV series (any episode) such as Babylon 5, Stars Wars, Star Trek, or Deep Space 9, and this beats it! AN incredible story that will leave wanting more! I cannot heap enough praise on this book. Brilliantly written, fast pace, and action-packed, "Beyond Mars Crimson Fleet is to Science Fiction as "Lord of the Rings" is to fantasy! On a scale of 1 to 10 this is a definite 9. If Steven Spielberg is looking to make another Scifi movie, look no further, HERE IT IS! Reviewer: Unknown #1 @ Google Book Search This book is not only incredibly good, but incredibly different. First of all the tone is very unusual. It doesn't talk down to people, lose you in any droning, or bog you down in with long winded explanations. Instead, it is a thrill a minute scifi story that plays like a movie in your head that was apparently crafted by a master and gifted wordsmith. What makes it even better, is that it seems all really believable! I can see it as history waiting to happen. That also makes it a bit scary! Still, it will be hard for you to put it down, and you'll probably read it from start to finish like I did. Reviewer: Unknown #2 @ Google Book Search This has got to be the absolute best scifi book since War of the Worlds! It is a nonstop rollercoaster ride of action and thrills. Only one word can describe it, WOW!!! Captain Wakinyan makes Kirk and Picard look like moronic wussies! Get the hell out of the way Enterprise here comes the Crazy Horse! |
